IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cedric
Fontenot Jr.
February 16, 1995 – December 24, 2025
Cedric Ted Fontenot Jr. was born on February 16, 1995, in Beaumont, Texas, to Tikisha and Cedric Fontenot. Raised with an abundance of love and guidance from his and grandmothers, Brenda Provo and Jackie Fontenot, C.J. grew into a radiant and compassionate soul. He spent most of his life in his hometown before relocating to Tyler, Texas at the age of 29—a move that would mark a beautiful new chapter in his life. It was there that C.J. met his wife, Baleigh Fontenot, and together they began joyfully planning their future.
C.J. was exceptionally gifted and creative, with a deep and lifelong passion for music. He began playing the trumpet in the South Park Middle School band and continued nurturing his musical talents throughout his life. Self-taught on both keyboard and guitar, the guitar became his greatest passion. He also taught himself music production, skillfully blending harmonies, beats, and melodies with natural ease. Music was not simply a talent for C.J.—it was a language through which he expressed his soul.
In addition to his artistic gifts, C.J. lived an active and disciplined life. He trained in boxing and jujitsu and had a profound love for skateboarding. Despite injuries along the way, his resilience never wavered—he always got back up and tried again. His determination and perseverance were evident in all that he pursued and were a constant source of inspiration to those around him. C.J. was also a gifted visual artist, able to translate imagination into powerful and colorful works of art. His creativity knew no bounds, and his talents were truly something to marvel at.
Above all, C.J. had a deep and committed relationship with God. With the support of Dowlen Road Church of Christ and Lindale Church of Christ, he devoted himself to spiritual growth and faithfully shared the message of salvation with others. His faith shaped the way he lived—inside and outside the church—and guided his love for people, especially his family.
C.J. was a devoted and proud father of two, with another child on the way. Fatherhood was his greatest achievement and the role he cherished most.
Cedric Ted Fontenot Jr. transitioned from this life on December 24, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Bailey Fontenot; his beloved children, Bryson and Baylor Fontenot, with one child yet to be born; his devoted parents, Tikisha and Cedric Fontenot; his siblings, Cody and Chelsea Fontenot; his grandparents, Brenda Provo and Leonard Joubert, Jackie Fontenot; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
C.J.’s life was marked by faith, creativity, resilience, and love. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
