Jearldine Randolph

Jearldine (Jones) Randolph blessed the world with her presence on February 6, 1942 in Matthews, Tx. Lou Hurd was the midwife that delivered Jearldine to Ernest and Frankie Jones. She was their third child. She corned the name "Sugar" from her Dad. At an early age she went to live with her grandparents Frank & Daisy King. She took great pride in family and even watched her sister while her grandparents worked the fields. She was named after her Grandfather's sister who resided in Refugio. She grew up in Matthews on Anderson Rd. Route 1 Box 16 8A. She had a love for basketball and was a proud graduate of EH. Henry High School where Fannie Benton was her school teacher. Fannie Benton also taught her through grade school and throughout high school.

Jearldine accepted Christ and grew up as a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and when she moved to Houston she joined Calvary Hill Church and was baptized at Lakewood Church. Her first job at 16 was for Ruth Anderson and she also worked with her Dad who was a chauffeur. She worked for Ruth Anderson until she moved to Houston. Once in Houston she worked for Texas Instruments, Mandy Ann and Palace Bowling Alley to name a few before starting her career in Health Care. She worked 20 plus years at Courtyard Convalescent Center. She retired in the early 2000s and this allowed her time to do what she loved the most and that was to be with family.

This small town woman loved her morning and evening coffee. traveling, dominoes, tending to her plants garden and trips to the casino. She raised so many and there was always an "Open Door' policy at her home. She always had a full house and everyone was welcome to cat and had their fair share of donuts and "shake um ups". A true woman of valor, selfless in so many ways. Whenever you asked her what she wanted she'd always reply "Love, Peace & Happiness". A strong woman that battled illness like a champ. She was by far the strongest woman we knew and made us so proud. She lived to be 81 years of age so instead of God's promised 3 scores and 10, she was given 4 scores and 1. Her conversations got shorter with us but longer with God and He hearkened to her voice on November 3, 2023 and gave her sweet rest.
