It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Lee Ellis, 62, who departed this life on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital after a lengthy illness which she bravely confronted and fought. She was born on October 8, 1962, in Marion, Ohio, to Dixie Lee Delauder and Charles “Chuck” Raymond Sharp.
Terry was an amazing woman who was the kindest and most caring person in the world. Her daughter Carlee says, “She was truly my best friend. She dedicated her life to family and making sure we were supported in whatever we did and that we never felt anything but loved.” Her son JP says, “My mom never met a stranger. She never turned anyone away and treated my friends like they were her own.” Everyone who was fortunate enough to know Terry was blessed with her overflowing love and helping heart. The warmth and happiness she brought to those around her cannot be overstated. Terry enjoyed playing dominoes and was a wiz at putting puzzles together. She loved good ol’ country music, had a wild side at times, and man could she cook! Friday nights were always filled with great food, good people, and a lot of laughter. Weekends during football season were spent supporting The Ohio State Buckeyes and The Houston Texans. Terry’s spirited cheering and signature clapping always brought smiles to her sister and brother-in-law. Watching football games will not be the same without her infectious enthusiasm.
Survivors include her son, James “JP” Ellis of Saratoga, TX, her daughter Carlee Scofelia and son-in-law, Brandon Downs of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren, Brooklyn Hope, Ashton Ellis, Nila-Faye Ellis, Paislee Saulters, Daxton Saulters, Lexlee Downs, Evan Downs, and Laikynn Downs; mother, Dixie Murphy of Pasadena, TX; siblings Mike Sharp, Deon Williams, Randy Sharp, Phillip Sharp, and Corinne Sharp; and extended family, loved ones, friends and bonus children throughout the years.
Terry is preceded in death by her father, Chuck Raymond Sharp; granny, Alice Marie Sharp; first husband, Shorty Ellis; second husband, G.C. Scofelia; life-time friends, Leroy Lowe, Erin Russell and many more.
A celebration of Life will be held at First Assembly God in Saratoga, TX on May 9 at 5pm.
