Joseph Wilfred (Pop) Gobert, Jr. was born September 26, 1952, to Wilfred and Audrey Gobert in Lafayette, LA.
He attended school in Elton, LA, and later enlisted in the United States Army in 1973. He loved to stay busy, so he retired and went back to work. He worked for years with Brown and Root, Co., Soltex, and Harris County.
He accepted Christ and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Baytown, TX, where he remained a faithful member until he received his call to glory.
In 1995, he married the love of his life, Gloria Hampton Gobert, and their love shined for 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wilfred Gobert, Sr., his son, Wesley Jermaine Gobert, and a brother Vernon Gobert.
He leaves to cherish all the wonderful memories: his wife, Gloria Jean Gobert; daughter, Erica (Adrian, Sr.) Torres; mother, Audrey Gobert; six grandkids, Robert Carpenter, Adrian, Jr., Erianna, Victoria, and Ariel Torres, and Jeremiah Patterson; six brothers, Ray, Andrew, Tommie, Terry, Sr. (Sue) all of Elton, LA, Peter, Sr. (Sandra) of Baytown, TX, and Timothy (Linda) of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Iris (John) Goss of Missouri City, TX, Josie (Matthew) Fields, Houston, TX, Dianne (Kenneth) Crosby, TX and Lucinda (John) Robinson, San Antonio, TX.; Mother in law, Geneva Williams, two brothers in law, Jerry (Deborah) Willis of Dallas, TX, and Michael Willis of Elton, LA., two sisters in laws Yvonne Pruitt, League City, TX and Elizabeth (Donald) Frank, Basile, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, godchildren, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
